A big update!

What am i up to lately?
Well very shortly, i've started khuumi lessons (throat singing), i'm amasingly crap! As you probably know i have no ear at all, so the moment the teacher picks up the guitar to give me the note i'm supposed to sing i cramble! Add to that the difficulty to do the correct sound! you have to play with muscles in your throat and tongue i didn t even know a i had! I will give it a go till Xmas then we'll see... i least i tried. The teacher seems very enthousiastic, but i'm not sure if it is cos i'm a foreign woman (usually khuumi is done by men) or if it is because he does think i'll be able to manage!
Other than that as i said i went back to Tai-chi, it feel go to use my body! And when i have time yoga.
I also have decided to stop the partying (yeah!!! right as if i could do that) well i' trying to have a more balanced life style as the working and partying the weekend wasnt satisfing my little person. So started planing little trips outside the city! I'll keep you posted.
And well the rest of the time i'm working. Work started to make sense now. I have a few trainings coming up related to my profession and not based on the fact that i speak english and i'm european!
Life is pretty good at the moment! Scroll down to check the updates!

What is it to live in -20*?

Well we haven't yet arrived to the -30-40*, we haven't yet arrived to winter!!!!!!! but there's some little facts that stoke me! For example, i'm not able to see outside from my living room window as the ice invaded the glass! You also have your nostril hairs frozen the second you step out! As well as your breath freezes in your scarf. Your hands, if you don't wear gloves (need to be foolish enough for that! well i did for 5 min the time of a cig) your hand wrinkle and freeze! The wrapping and unwrapping up can be quiet fastidious! Considering houses are overheated so you start sweating very quickly! Is an art! I'm still quiet crap at it!
On the other hand, rivers freeze and you are able to ice skate anytime and for free! you can even skate to work! Your metabolism works so fast to cope with it, that you loose weight without even trying! I love that one!
Amasingly women here don't take their high hills of and manage better that me with boots!
I had the opportunity to experience -25* in Dornod, well it was bloody cold but not only i survived but i was fine! The air on my face felt like needles! and I could speak properly (frozen chin) for a while! but I survived which gave me hope for what it is to come! There might not be a frozen statue of me in the square!

Sunday walk!

In the flow of having different weekends, yesterday we went for a walk on the borders of UB. Got in a bus, to the river and climbed the hill, more of a mountain i'll say! Then the river called us, we managed to get down, not an easy task as we decided to go through the other side, so no path and very slippery indeed! The river as you can see on the pics was frozen, so we went for some ice-skating and playing some curling! After that we crossed over, scary, i could see myself drowing on the freezing cold river!
Unfortunatelly the cold froze my camera and i runed out of batteries. But hey! some is better than nothing!

Sarah and Greg, waiting for them!

The view, that's UB! and that smoky thing is the power station, that i love and hate! love cos keep me warm, hate, cant really breathe!

Choibalsan

With Bumtuya, who organised the training from there.
Plus Mavis and Eliza, co-trainers!

Having a little vodka-apple juice at Lesley's flat with Andie. And yes in cups!

The training

The teachers training, getting ready for the group photo! I felt like a celebrity! never had my photo taken that much!

With the staff of APDC Choibalsan (I work for APDC UB)
After a week of training!

The trip

The sunrise

Mavis and her beautiful hat!

Wild horses

The lovely dog! Yeah I know i'm obsesed, but seriously is not funny to have dogs coming to see you when you going for a wee on the nature!!

While travelling a phrase came to my mind, from toy story film (i know i have crappy references!!) "To infinity and beyond" That's how it felt like!

Chuka, with Mavis' hat! It was really cold, for the cig!

And of course i had to try it on!

Can you see the tracks, that's the road! all the way to Khentii! A bit shaky, better have a good stomac, which wasnt the case of the poor thing that came with us, every 30min we had to stop for her! (Naraa was the daughter of a volunteer translator!)

Moving, the house is at the back of the camel!

Khentii, the only town-city we came across!
It was in the middle of nowhere. It makes you wander, why there?

The land of blue sky

The frozen river! and nothing around!

Where the cows come for a drink!

Yeap! that's what happens when you going through the dessert! Some wild horses block the way! It was amasing!

Le peage! il fallait la photo!

Et le coucher de soleil!

Lotus Centre

Saturday we went with David and Gek to spend some time with the kids of the Lotus centre (a centre for street kids, where Gek works), With Gecca (flatmate) we will go there some Saturdays to play and do some drama and dance with the kids. So this was just a little introduction to the place and the children. Is in the ger district on the outskirts of UB, which give you the feeling of getting out of the city! Which is a refreshment!
To finish of the day on a nice note, we did some Tai-chi! Is good to be back! (I did some tai-chi back in Vzla)

Kipp's Halloween Party

Yet again! an other party, the next day of the guys one! This is the one which made me decide to stop parting! The costumes are slightly different, the people is. But the beverage killed me! I came as a vampire this time! amasing what make up can do when you are wearing the same clothes!!!
